Cork-LHR-LGW - MCO Boomerang

Booked flights in July for August and am here now. Used Expedia I.E to book. Cost €700 each and managed to upgrade to premium with virgin. Had no problems at all with the journey. I have family in cork so stayed a few days and then flew out and had 4hrs 15 mins to get to Gatwick. We landed on the tarmac at 0830 and we were at Gatwick at 1000 for our 1pm flight. Would definitely do that route again. I had two holidays for the price of one.

Have seen this route being offered on a few sites and would probably go for it if i was travelling without kids. Just the thought of dragging the luggage and kids from Heathrow to Gatwick seems a little daunting.

Originally we were gonna have our car parked at Heathrow with our big luggage in the boot Andrew drive to Gatwick. In the end my father in law was ill so my partner couldn't go. I can't drive so I got an Uber straight to Heathrow. We only had hand luggage each and I had some folded down bags in the carry on. When we got here CVS we're selling big folding bags for $20 so not having huge bags is was not an issue.

Cork city is not far from the airport. We did stay in the travelogue near the airport on the last day so my family wouldn't have to get up early to drop us but I didn't realise I would still need a taxi to airport. Was only €10 but would stay in the airport hotel next time if on my own with kids. When we have a car it's 15 mins from the city centre in the mornings.
