Mother of all Colds

Has anyone else had this? I accept it may be man flu, but goodness, I havenít felt this bad in ages. Havenít slept for 3 nights, aching all over, last night I had that unusual situation where you are boiling hot but shivering. Headache, cough etc.

Apparently itís just a normal cold (Iíve done 3 lateral flows, all negative for Covid) but our immune systems are weak due to lockdowns.

Just maybe starting to feel a little better this morning, but still far from right. Started Monday night. Some people are reporting they are still not right a month on.

Me since the weekend

Completely blocked nose, headache, sore throat which I think might be worse because Iím breathing through my mouth, cough.

I went for a PCR test yesterday, waiting for result although Iím convinced itís just a cold.

You have my sympathy, Iíve not been right for a fortnight, was quite glad 10 days ago when it seemed to develop into a head cold, as hoped that was the beginning of the end of it, but still rolling through the symptoms. From sinus to cough to sore throat it just carries on.
All LFTís negative and stayed home as just hadnít felt like going out, I got a PCR this week just to be sure, they couldnít read the sample so waiting for another one today.

I had this a few weeks ago. I was convinced I had Covid but PCR was negative. From the lack of cold and flu tablets on the shelf in Asda I assumed others had the same.
Hope you are better soon YT.

We've all had it and it was/is horrible. My DH and I had not had a cold since we returned to the UK after living in France for 5 years in 2010 - that one was bad but this new one doing the rounds is crazy - still coughing and sneezing 3 weeks later As others have said it seems to be due to reduced immunity - the lockdowns and not mixing definitely must have caused this IMHO

Weíve all had it too. Started about two-three weeks ago and was really unpleasant.

Dd ended up with tonsillitis, Iíve had double ear infections and an eye infection.

We all had multiple lft and PCR that were all negative.

Hopefully this nasty bug will have boosted our immune systems some.

My DS had this in August after coming back from Leeds festival - PCR etc all negative. Knocked him out big time for a week and then it lingered for over a month. The rest of us got milder versions.

Lots of people at work has had it, also doing the rounds in local schools (We are in Cheshire)
