Budget Check In/Skip the Counter

Seen a thread yesterday that suggested Budget now allowed you to check in online and skip the counter. Looked at the Budget UK website and that does appear to be the case, question I have is that I’m booked with Autoeurope but the car is supplied by Budget US, has anyone figured out how to check in on line with Budget using the Budget booking ref from their Autoeurope confirmation (I’ve tried a number of times and it will not accept it)?

I wonder if 3rd party bookings are unable to do the online check-in with budget.

We use Auto Europe, and on the first page of your contract you should have the Auto Europe vouncher Number on the top left and the Reservation number of the car hire company on the top right.

Then go on Budget and put that number into their system.

Hope this helps

Thanks, that’s what I’ve been trying to do but when I input the correct budget confirmation number the system says that it’s not recognised. Have you done this yourself and it has worked?……….I’ll give Budget a call as I’d convinced myself it’s not working as I’ve booked through a third party.

That’s what I’ve decided the issue may be, I’m going to phone Budget tomorrow and see if there is an issue. Would rather skip the counter as I’ve seen a lot of posts saying that Budget are murder for hard sell and their hire desks.

We've used Budget a number of times and never had a 'hard sell'. They just work a lot slower than we're used to in the UK, and people are fractious after a long flight. You just say no thank you to an upgrade of car/insurance, sign the papers get the keys and go to your car. If you don't like it you can swop for another, it's quite simple.

I'm another who's done online check in through a third party, BA - I thought I'd already written that on here but can't see it!

ETA - there's another very similar thread running at the moment, hence my confusion!

If you go via budget/en/reservatio...-modify-cancel theres a Digital Check In button.

If you've been un/sucessful, would you mind confirming if you're using a debit / credit card and also which web browser you used. Just trying to figure out why some customers seem to be accepted whilst others don't. Also, any error messages you get so I can feed this back to Budget.

I'm awaiting an update from Budget to see if they can provide any more info.

I've been unsuccessful on Firefox and via mobile and have tried 2x credit and 1x debit. ( Forgot to say that when emailing you earlier )
