Surely this is talking about the ones that say you can get back in a few hours, rather than next day.

I've taken 3 NHS PCR tests and got every result the next day, so it can't be that.

Agree with this. Next day results are a standard PCR test. Rapid would be the 3 hour tests that some clinics offer.

Stop panicking. This is a few hour one- they need to look for S protein drop out. Randox next day etc is standard.

It might be 'whatever' for you and everyone else who doesn't work. But it's not 'whatever' for people who have jobs and can't work from home or have extra time off. I've had to cancel my New Orleans Christmas trip for this reason.

Rapid PCR’s are advertised as exactly this with results in around 3 hours and usually quite a bit dearer. Any other private ones are results within 48 hours at the most however we have had them all back in under 24 hours.

Why have you cancelled your trip ?

Nothing in any announcements I have seen that would induce that drastic step at this stage.

I am nervous abut getting to and into USA but no way am I cancelling - at all. I am a resourceful chap and if I needed to get back to UK within 24hrs I know I could do that from the USA one way or another and its highly unlike they will be placed on a red list (if they are then I stay out there)

We never know, or have one away. EG The ash cloud stopped my sister and family returning for Thailand for over a month but there noting you can do but suck it up.
