I have done it before as a one off as dd really wanted a beauty calendar but at £80 there was no way she was getting it as an actual advent calendar.

Advent calendar

Bit out of the box and no pun intended

If the calendar items are really something the person wants but it’s too expensive for a calendar, could you remove the items from the calendar and make them into a gift basket to be opened on Christmas Day?




Just an idea maybe nuts
