Just back- highs and lows
Still figuring out doing a full trip report or not, so thought I would do a quick highs and lows in the meantime.
This was my first ever visit to DLP, (my wife, Charlie, worked there for a while many years ago, before the studios park opened, so it was very different for her now too! Highs Eurostar so easy and as booked in advance, very reasonable price. DLP version of DAS we had the priority card, and we were able to use the "fastpass" lane on most rides, there are a lot more hoops to jump through in providing the evidence to get this, but also means that it is less open to misuse. Rides Some nice different rides to WDW , and thought that thunder mountain and hyperspace mountain were better at DLP. Really enjoyed WEB slingers and RC racers too, and Tower of terror was really good. Staying on site Stayed at Sequoia Lodge, and was great just walking across to the parks, and easy just to pop back to the room or to wander across to Disney village for food. The resort itself was really nice, but as many have said, the rooms really do need a refurb, but they are clean and comfortable. Paris We stayed in Paris for the last 2 nights at Hotel Mademoiselles, which was fantastic, lots and lots of walking, but really enjoyed it. Not so highs . The food Just didn't seem to do it for me, lots of buffet types which when looking at the menu, just didn't see many items on there, and not many options for a quick breakfast. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a low, this is just our tastes. We really enjoyed getting our Earl of Sandwich fix, and also had a good meal at King Ludwig's, just thought the offerings weren't as good as I thought they might have been, and also surprised there was no counter service offering at the hotels. Lows Lack of plug sockets This isn't a game changer, but to only have one plug socket in a room with today's gadgets and phones etc is not great, but it wouldn't put me off staying at SL again, I would just ensure I had an extension/multi socket if they have not refurbished the rooms. COVID We had managed to escape it for more than 2 years, started to feel a bit under the weather on the evening of our last day, and only got worse as traveling home, and although testing negative on the day, woke up at home feeling awful, and was positive when tested again. Not sure if we picked it up at Disney or in Paris, but we were very careful with hand washing and hand gel etc, but we didn't wear masks. (Didn't see anyone wearing them) St Pancras/Gare Du Nord Although the train itself was a breeze, and so quick, I cannot say the same for the getting though passport/security before boarding, it was chaotic, with different queues been sent to different bits then merging randomly.(London worse than Paris). It just seemed really badly organised at both ends. All in all, it was a great break, bit emotional, but really enjoyed it, and already thinking about when we can go back next year! Would definitely stay at SL again, but if there was not a lot in it price wise, think we would like to try Newport Bay next time. Would also definitely go via Eurostar again, but would be happy to try flying into CDG too as although the Eurostar was great, the train strikes made getting to London more difficult (which, as it turned out were called off, but not before we had changed our plans) |

Interesting.
The equivalent DAS is really hard for me as they want it in English or French. I can't get that here in Spain it's only in Spanish. |
