DLP First Timers Trip Report - 4 Day Stay @ Sequoia Lodge Feb 23 DAY 1
Day 1 - 09/02/23
We flew from Manchester to Charles De Gaul Airport with Easyjet at 7am so we had a really early start to the day at 3am. Everything was seamless and we were quickly in The Grain Loft having breakfast. Flight left on time and we landed in CDG at 9.20am French time. We were straight off and onto a bus and into terminal 2D. Baggage was there almost immediately and our driver was waiting for us. We used RS transports which was €60 each way for 3 of us. Within 20 minutes of landing we were on the road. Took about 40 minutes but we were soon at Sequoia Lodge. I did the pre checkin 7 days before on the app, and our room was ready when we got there which was great because I could unpack before heading to the parks. The rooms have lots of storage but only the one plug so bring an extension lead! We grabbed a hot drink from the drinks machine (4 included each day with your magic key) and then i popped to the concierge desk and sorted my priority card which was super easy, just took the required evidence and it was all set up. Once that was done we headed to Walt Disney Studios passing The Marvel Hotel. ![]() We really loved this park, so small and personal. We started with Tower of Terror and the queues have been so small today I've only needed to used my priority pass on Spiderman, Crush's coaster and RC racer. Everything else has been a dream! Tower of Terror absolutely smashes WDW out the park. Amazing. ![]() We bought lunch from the little food stalls outside ratatouille, and we had a cheese pretzel and a crepe to share. These were tasty and not too expensive. ![]() ![]() It was almost 2pm now so I sat and bagged a spot at the Hero Training Academy. We had a 35 minute wait and it was our turn. Jenson was hoping for Thor or Iron-man however we had Black Panther. He was OK with this as we've just watched Black Panther 2, this was such a cool meet and greet. He loved the interaction with Shuri and really enjoyed the superhero moves we had to do. ![]() ![]() When we left here we bumped right into Loki and Thor. Jenson was near the front but grown adults will literally shove your child out the way to get pictures with the heroes themselves. So be forceful with your kids and shove them back in front. He managed to get a picture with Loki but not Thor sadly as they had to go. ![]() After this we then went to the animation academy which was great fun. We had to draw Winnie the Pooh and I don't think we did too bad 😂 ![]() ![]() The final thing for today was our evening meal at Pym Kitchen. For all the bad reviews I read I was really worried about this but we needn't have been. It was lovely, our server was great and we all really enjoyed the food. The jambalaya being the best. The only negative is that the tables were perhaps a little too close for comfort but that's nothing major. ![]() ![]() ![]() We were going to stay and watch the drone show today but we were shattered! Fast asleep by 8pm!
