Avis insurance though BA- is it enough

Is the Avis car hire through BA enough? I don’t want to get it and then find out it’s not as comprehensive as I thought

It covers cdw and sli which is all you need.
If you want to cover anything else for example, tyres, cracked windscreen or keys you may want to buy a seperate insurance cover for example,
https://www.enhancedroadsideassistance.com
I do know on autoeurope website some rentals do include this extra cover so have a look on there also.
Iam using ba/avis in 10 days time and have done so many times before.

As Scouser has said, it includes all the required insurances, apart from the tyres, cracked windscreen or keys.

I have used Avis from BA on several occasions, make sure you register with Avis and get BA to add the member number to your booking.

I used the Avis app last September and it was a doddle, changed car, given a parking space number, walked down straight to garage, keys in car, drove out. Just had to show driving licence at the exit.

Just asking as never been offered different vehicles on the app, how many choices did you have and were they from the same group as your reservation?
Must be honest never checked the app, name had always been on the board so just went straight to car.

Only you can decide.
The devil is in the detail.
The potential issue is that most car hire companies massively reduced their SLI insurance cover from $1 million to a few hundreds of thousand.
You need to decide if you are comfortable with that. Personally, I am not.
So I have a couple of options - for use the likes of Moneymaxim. The issue here is that if booking with the likes of Alamo where spouse is included free - oddly, they are not covered under these extra policies as the spouse MUST be actually names on the rental agreement. This doesn't happen with Alamo. I have had this formally confirmed in writing from two of the main companies Moneymaxim uses. The option here is to book an extra driver (many third part suppliers offer 2 or 4) and add them explicitly rather than as a spouse.
The alternative is to use DFCH who includes the $1million SLI cover.
It has just become a bit more complicated in recent months.

Not it’s not enough Avis reduced the SLI cover from $1 million to $500k which isn’t much sadly in the event of accident. You can take out an extra policy via a third party which is what I do it only costs around £40 for a week which is isn’t much and gives you piece of mind

Not to be facetious but who actually says $500,000 is not enough? Where is the research to back this up?

I am genuinely interested as in my thinking if 500,000 is not enough where does it stay any claim will be capped at the magical number of $1,000000

Because at this point if i'm $500,000 short with standard SLI, then paying for extra insurance and still potentially being short of a claim makes no sense.

$100,000, $500,000, $1,m, £3B or even infinity Short? its all the same.

if i destroy a £2m property and cause injury with my car then 1M is not enough, so as i said be it $1.5m or $1m i have neither readily available?

basically all i'm asking is if a claim is made against SLI is it capped at 1M?

again sorry id this seems like im being obstructive.
