Disney Disaster

We spent 3 days around Normandy before heading to Paris for Disney and everything was fine. We were staying at Davy Crockett Ranch and headed there the evening before at 8:30pm and picked up our magic passes to save time the next morning which was fine all went smoothly, ready for 3 days of parks and 2 nights at Davey Crockett's, they said cabin would be available from 4pm next day.

Next day we headed to the parks, arrived in big car park just after 8:00 and were in queue for the studios about 8:15 not too far from the front.
The park opened everyone started scanning and running in, got to our turn and magic passes wouldn't scan, kept coming up red light, cast member looked at screen and said they had not been activated, whatever that meant. We asked them what do we have to do and she said we have to go to guest services which is separate queue and all barriered off.
We had to fight our way past the thousands of people fighting to get in now, walk all the way out and walk pack in on separate queue for guest services, only 1 window open and about 20 people in queue in front of us. When we eventually got to window they said they didn't know why they wouldn't work and replaced them with 4 more magic passes.
Still couldn't enter the park from here, we had to walk all the way out again towards security and queue to get back into park, from originally getting there at 8:15 we finally got into studios park at 9:15, that was magic hour pretty much finished and our plans had to all change.

Frustrated but determined to start our day again, said to kids what did they want to ride first now, Tower of Terror, Flight force etc to which younger son said he didn't feel great, half an hour later he was being sick in toilets. Presumed it was something he ate night before, I took older son on some rides, but over next couple of hours younger son was sick couple more times and no fit state to be in a theme park so we left.

We headed to Davy Crockett's explained the situation and they thankfully gave us a cabin early at 12:00, we had a restaurant booking at PYM kitchen, app wouldn't let us change it, but reception managed to call the restaurant directly and we moved it to few days later which was helpful.

Next morning son woke up and still didn't feel any better and was still being sick, was obviously not something he ate at this point. I took older son for few hours in parks while wife stayed with younger son.

Later that evening younger son was feeling better and was desperate to watch the Avengers drone show so we went and just watched that, which was spectacular by the way.

2 days of parks written off we had 1 day left which we then hoped could spend as family and planned what we wanted to do.

Those plans were then ripped up as during the night my wife and older son then started being sick several times.

We tried to pay to stay extra night at Davy Crocketts but they said unable to as fully booked, I asked what was latest we could stay till and they gave us extra hour till 12.00.

I took younger son to parks for few hour so he could go on few rides finally and then we had to go back to pack car and to pickup wife and son who still were being sick.

So Disney disaster, no time spent as family, each kid had few hours in parks on their own and all restaurant bookings were cancelled.

What a shame a Disney vacation is so highly anticipated and it's so disappointing when things goes wrong.

What a shame! A holiday you will remember for the wrong reasons. Nothing worse than being poorly away from home when you just want your own bed/toilet.

Very frustrating about the tickets on arrival too.

Hope the whole family are feeling better now.

Oh no, that's awful

We went as a family of 5 back in February for 4 nights. My 4 year old was randomly sick once on the third night but seemed fine in himself. But then on our last day, we all started to feel rough driving back to the Eurotunnel. We stayed over in Folkestone and all took turns being sick at some point during the night
Driving 4 hours home from there was horrible, but we were so grateful to have caught a bug right at the end of the holiday!
