Extent of Hurricane damage to West Coast?

Hi We are staying for three weeks in Fort Myers beach in August and was wondering if any one can report on the current state of the main resorts down the gulf coast, specifically Naples and Fort Myers/Cape Coral. I understand last years Hurricane caused considerable damage but was hoping it was back to normal or if there is anything still out of action.

Everything is almost back to normal. We lost one orange tree in our back yard in Cape Coral and Ft Myers was up and running within weeks. Some areas in Naples took a bit longer but overall it’s business as usual!
Have a great time

We are a little higher up at Rotonda West and also had very little damage. Our Bismark palm was pushed over slightly but has survived. Even when there is any damage over here it's amazing how quickly things get back to normal.
You probably won't notice any evidence of Irma 👍😎

Our part of Kissimme was damaged pretty badly. The schools were even closed for a week. The only evidence you can see now is the empty twisted tall sign outside Burger King. Everything else was fixed months ago.

Naples was pretty much sorted when we were there at Christmas.

Thanks for the updates guys!

Were properties hit by flood damage? we are staying right near the water and have heard there were storm surges that caused most of the damage. TBH, a bit worried now if there is another hurricane whilst we are there due to location

The only damage of lasting effect was the City Pier of Anna Maria Island which is unfortunately still closed

The end of Naples pier is closed until August and AMI's City Pier won't be open until maybe 2020.
