Disney Springs - Disney Quest
Anyone know what Disney Quest in DS is being officially turned into? I heard it was a being turned into an NBA thing? Wasn't sure.

This made me really sad! lol
I LOVED Disney Quest, almost as much as some of the theme parks! Maybe I'm underestimating the sports mad Americans but I just don't see the NBA Experience having as much of a broad appeal to people? |

Being from the UK I have zero interest in Basketball, and find it tedious, but it is a big thing in America, and there must be an appetite for this or Disney wouldn't have built it.

Conversely, as a die-hard basketball fan I can't wait to see what they do with this and I wish it would be open in time for our next visit. Don't underestimate how big basketball is internationally either, it's the second biggest sport in the world. The Euroleague is a huge deal, and there are plenty Europeans in the NBA now, who have big followings in their home countries. I think the NBA experience could be something pretty special if done well.
Disney Quest looked like a great idea, but when we went last year they'd stopped including entry with the UK park tickets - and having seen vlogs of the place it didn't look worth the entry fee for some 20+ year old arcades on free play and a few (albeit cool-looking) custom games that looked sadly neglected. I'd imagine the cost to keep something like this up to date with new games / tech would be astronomical and still struggle to pull paying guests in - wish it could have worked though.. |

We still had entry with our Ultimate tickets, and they had let it go. Lots of machines that were switched on but not working or had an obvious fault. Some machines with broken controls and monitors. It was clear it was being run down.
Did I enjoy it? Yes, went several times and made the most of it. However, would I have paid? No way. It was a great idea, they needed to follow through with it, and continue to invest and invest money in tech. Its a real shame. |

I would also say there is a big and growing basketball interest in the uk. I think it will be popular with the Brits

I will certainly be checking out the NBA thing out. I am not a follower of NBA, but would love to get into it, and eventually get to watch a game.
