I noted Miss Tangled that you said with 2 adults they can be slowed down quite a bit?

I take it they are not all that powerful then?

We are both a bit of what you would call a ''Thrill Seeker'' and do like things quite fast, or are they not all that?

I did also notice that anyone from the age of 12 can drive, so would imagine they are quite slow. Are they?

Any more information would be greatly appreciated.
I believe they are slow. We rented a montauk (spelling?) end of last year. It was great, but quite slow at max speed.

They appear to be restricted, as you will find staff in similar boats going far greater speeds.

If you are thrill seekers I suggest one of the following:
  • Jetski (you drive, up to 3 per jetski)
  • Water skiing (staff drive the boat, you ski)
  • Parasailing (staff drive the boat, you go up on a rope/chute several hundred feet in the air - pay extra for longer rope)

I've done them all, but not on bay lake. All these options can be had from the Contemporary resort.

You can park for three hours for free at a Disney resort, assuming it hasn't changed since end of last year

Thank you for that.

Don't fancy being ''outside'' if you get what I mean. LOL

I like to go fast, a bit like on a speedway in a nascar for example, but not outside of it, i.e in a motorbike. LOL

Don't really fancy jetskiing or parasailing as don't like the water or heights.

I know you are going to all think I'm mad, because a boat is on water after all, but I hope you all get my drift? Ha ha.

When we say ''slow'' then are we talking quite slow, or still a lot of fun to drive?

I don't expect them to go 40-50 mph if you know what I mean, but just wanted to have some fun to a certain degree.

Hope that all makes sense!

I found them very slow, like maybe 20mph, but I could be wrong. Just watch some videos on YouTube you should be able to get some idea.

Totally understand the water/height thing. The water is actually dangerous but for different reasons than you might think. It's the amoeba that is the issue, but I believe the skiing is done in deep water and therefore the bed is undisturbed.

We certainly loved being out on the water, so definitely "fun" in that respect. I would do it again that's for sure.

Jetskis are awesome, but they are weird to get used to. On a motorbike you can shut the power off, on a jetski you need power to do anything and that includes getting out of trouble. I reckon the Disney jetskis are restricted too, so possibly 30-40mph.

I looked at the little speedboats and not only were they slow they looked super cramped. Go for the smaller montauk unless you have a very large party. We had four on ours and there was plenty of room for a few more.

Thank you for the reply.

Just as a matter of interest what is amoeba?

Is that the flesh eating bug that lives in the bed of water?

The reason I am asking, is because I saw a programme about that once where someone got water in their mouth and died.

So I'm presuming this is the same thing, hence why I am asking what it is please?
