Cruise from Barcelona? - MSC SEAVIEW
HI
I am looking to book my first cruise for July 2019. Ive been looking all day and I almost booked P&O Oceana for the Med until I saw the MSC Seaview. ALthough P&O is supposed to be the better cruise line I didnt like the ship at all whereas the MSC Seaview ticks all the boxes and the ports look fab. Can anyone help though as If i book cruise only its £899 pp but if I book with flights its £1049 pp. What do people normally do prior to a cruise in Barcelona? is it best to book the flight alongside the cruise or better separately? Any advice is welcome. thanks

Which P&O ship were you looking at?
We've been on Arcadia and are booked on Britannia for next year. We have just booked a Celebrity Cruise from Barcelona for Nov this year. We booked flights from Gatwick early on the day of the cruise but we booked it all through the cruise line so they will have to wait for us if we are delayed. If we booked our flights separately we would always book for the day before to allow for any delays. We tend to book our cruises on the ports of call first and the cruise ship second. Katie x |

We have only ever been on one cruise before with RC but have now booked MSC Meriviglia departing Barcelona next January for DH's BIG birthday! We are flying from Dublin to Barcelona and have a private transfer booked as part of the package. The ship gets mixed reviews on Cruise Critic, but we are going mainly for the ports and usually aren't hard to please, so hope it will be ok.
I'm sure whichever one you decide to book, you'll have a great time.

My sister cruised with MSC her only irritation was the constant changing of passengers at the ports We experienced this in Australia with P&O Aurora last year too, it does get annoying, us because they were so rowdy on their "mini cruise" which we were on for 19 nights, great up to Perth

That is the second of MSC's new "Seaside" class vessels and they're meant to be pretty special. Will definitely be a more impressive ship than the Oceana. And I think depending on what you are looking for MSC would be a better cruise line than P&O. The only P&O ship that interests me is the Britannia.

If you book flights through the cruise line, your transfers will be included to the ship, so factor that into the cost. We like to fly out a couple of days early if we can and stay in a hotel so we usually book our own flights.
