I can’t decide how much cash to take or to just pay on a card what is everybody else doing?

I usually take $1000 on a pre-loaded card, around $200 in cash and a credit card in case. Thinking of taking less on pre-loaded this time as based on last year there are just not enough bargains worth buying and we are having a fairly relaxing holiday this year. I am not worrying about rate at the moment as there seems little point they are what they are and sadly I dont see any significant improvement whilst UK/Brexit is all so unstable

Tbh I'm peeved at the rate being what it is but ultimately for £1k worth of dollars if it went up 5 or so cents (which frankly is all I see it doing in the next few months barring a rate rise - it could also plummet so...) I'd gain a whopping $50. I mean, it would be nice, but its less than a days wages for me.

Sucks but there it is. As long as it stays near 1.30. Much below that and it starts to get painful for me.
