You ate... At home?!

I thought I knew you

Moons Over My Hammy is one of my personal favourites, too

Thank you for the location help on Clearwater Beach - I've placed it now (I think)

I know. It was nice to be at home though so no one was worrying about driving.

Plus it guaranteed we ate at at sensible time - which is an issue for me. And the drinks out all the time was looking expensive.

Imagine a creature with the appetite of a sparrow and the hollow legs of a giraffe entertaining another creature with the stomach capacity of a buffalo and the the hollow legs of a goldfish ... And you see the overall eating/drinking dilemma. It was good fun but a bit chaotic

Bob evans, Clearwater

Ok, I gave up on the ipad so the rest of the pics are from photobucket

A good feed from Bob was in order.

I had the pot roast hash. I stupidly thought this would be a corned beef hash .

It wasnt, it was brisket and I have never eaten beef with scrambled egg. But it kinda worked. Andy thought it was a bit dry. I liked it

It came with plain toast and you can see andy's biscuits in the background

He had the sunshine skillet - sausages and cheese/ sauce in an open omelette. I thought it was a bit sickly . He liked it .

I then blew the carb daily allowance on the supreme blueberry french toast

OMG I just about died and went to french toast heaven - this was amazing.

Not sure about these sweet treats though ...

mmmm, candied bacon , the perfect start to your meal

Another reasonable bill

Cracker Barrel, US 192

Yay , we are back in Orlando

Boo, that means its going home time

But not before we stuff in as much food as we can

We timed our arrival here perfectly , ordering just as a touring school baseball team got off their coach - omg, loads of them

I desperately wanted the Sampler with Chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, ham and 3 sides ... but it was lunchtime and we already agreed we were going out for steak tonight so I just couldnt eat that much.

the menu is overwhelming. so much so that after 3 return visits from the server Andy still hadnt made up his mind and pointed to the first thing he saw

Thats right, a burger, just what you go to Cracker Barrel for ..

He said it was really , really good.

I went for the "light" chicken ( in toasted cornflakes) with a side of mac n cheese ( delish) , a pretty ordinary salad and a corn muffin ( nom)

Really tasty food, excellent service too
Nice price !

We will return

On the way out, I was amused by this

mmm, chocolate with bacon and potato chips , yum
OMG , has Willy Wonka lost the plot ?

Longhorn Steakhouse, Vineland

Hurrah, the highlight of the holiday food - Longhorn's is here

No wait for a table and its straight into the cocktail menu

I went for a black and Blue

The yummy wheat bread arrived

And the salads

Caesar for me and Garden for Andy

And then the bit we were were waiting for...

Flo's Filet ( its just too damn good) with lobster ( for himself) and loaded jacket

I swear that photo could be from anyone of our trips in the last 5 years. That meal is just soooooo good.

Andy had prime rib - very happy bunny

I was too full for dessert but took away a slice of white chocolate cheesecake, perfect for breakfast tomorrow ...

The bill, a tad expensive , but totally worth it

You're not really selling the pot roast hash from Bob Evans, but that blueberry French toast - now you're talking!

In all our trips I'm ashamed to say that I've never been in Cracker Barrel. Looking at your photos though I think it needs to be one for the 'next visit' list. Not that I know when that might be. There's just too many other places we'd like to see before we return. Quite fancy a Caribbean cruise one of these days, so we might be able to tag an Orlando stay onto that.

And then onto the old favourite, Longhorn's. That bread, the Flo's Fillet and a loaded jacket potato - my mouth is watering. They can always be relied on for a great meal.
