It's not a process I enjoyed as it was all so alien to me and didn't really have a clue what I wanted from a cruise.
Would love to know your thoughts afterwards.

The thing to remember is that none of us knew what we wanted before we'd tried it .. that goes for any holiday, not just a cruise.
Getting your first one under your belt will give you much needed knowledge in what your family wants from the next one.
It may be you want more adult activities, more water slides, more shows, more youth stuff, more casinos, more shops ... who knows?

Go with the flow, stop looking at prices etc now you've made your decision and enjoy it!

Glad you had a great time, I think cruises are brilliant family holidays especially with teens as you can give them more freedom than on shore. Cruises were always my plane hating Mum's first choice so we cruised a lot as kids.

Will you try a different cruise company next time or stick with RCL do you think ?

No sure to be honest. I’ve looked at adding a DCL onto our next Florida trip so I can visit Castaway Cay. RC were perfect for our family at this point in time but I won’t discount others. I think it would depend on the particular ship; Symphony had so much for us all to do as well as plenty of quieter places.
