Mine is the same as Warkman58 except under Inclusions it says this.

STATE SURCHARGE TIRE & BATTERY FEE VEH. LICENSE FEE CUSTOMER FACILITY FEE Additional Liability Insurance (ALI)Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)Unlimited Mileage
That makes it good to go. You have all the additional local fees included you have the ALI (also known as SLI which is the additional liability insurance of $1million you need) and CDW so you do not get charged for collisions dents etc. Just add petrol and away you go.

But AVIS seem to use toll by plate now (my last car did not have a transponder you could turn off) and even if you go through a cash ane the number plate will get passed to AVIS and they will charge you for tolls again and the daily fee. So if you pay manually be prepared for additional charges to come a little later (with no invoice or email) that you will then need to fight or accept (so keep all receipts if you want to go manual at tolls).

Not sure who is to blame here but between the toll company and AVIS someone is conning motorists who do not notice.

There seems to be an issue with driving through a toll before the payment has been registered triggering an etoll payment or that seems to be what is claimed anyway.

Funnily, doing a dummy booking on the AVIS UK site does not mention the liability insurance at all, only CDW, nor does it offer it as an extra

However, if its on your voucher, then you are good to go

This double charges do not happen as a matter of course. Just wait til the green light comes on and also collect a receipt.
If you did get charged the admin fee by Avis it would not be one daily fee, you would get charged admin for every day of your rental whether you used a toll or not. This maximises at $19.95 per monthly rental period plus tolls.

I did and you still get billed and have to 'fight it' with AVIS to get it removed. This is unacceptable and does not seem to be an isolated case as others on here have reported. Yes I had the receipts as do others but this 'scam' / 'fraudalent' / 'honest mistake' needs to stop because between the 2 of them they are ripping off drivers and each blaming the others is not acceptable. The light is red you pay it goes green so no excuses for charging again and AVIS not invoicing or emailing drivers to let them know they have been charged just hoping they do not check their credit card statements a few months down the line. IMHO if we were US citizens this would be a class action.

Just checking my BA/Avis voucher and it says the following -

Third Party Liability (TPL)
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

So I guess I am ok as well?
