Hired direct from Alamo.
Picked up from MCO. Class booked was two door economy, (cheapest option!). Make and Model was Kia Rio. This was plenty big enough for the three of us. A bit basic, but it did the job. Air Con worked well enough. Stereo was good, with plug for iPod/Phone. No central locking or electric windows, though. Very economical. More than enough room in the boot for three suitcases. On the way to the villa, we got the three cases plus one hand luggage case in there. We had to expand the cases on the way back, so the three hand luggage cases had to go inside, although we could have folded down one of the back seats and put them in the boot if we'd wanted to. We've always hired economy cars through Dollar and always ended up with something bigger. Took a bit of a gamble with Alamo, as they seem to have more small cars than Dollar, but the car we got was good enough for us. Would use Alamo again. Edited at 10:13 PM. |

Place you picked the car up from:- MCO
Catergory of car hired:- Convertible Make of car you got:- Ford Mustang Hire car company used:- Hertz We booked the car hire when someone kindly posted on the forums about the Hertz/Expedia deal. Hertz were actually charging less for the gas than the gas stations, so we prepaid the fuel. Due to a problem we had with Hertz cars back in June we were given a $25 voucher, this came off the fuel so we only paid $19 for a tank of gas. I absolutely loved this car, so did DH It was pretty nippy and not too bad on gas either. We got 2 full size soft holdalls in the trunk The other 2 had to ride on the back seats. The car had satellite radio which is great. As yet we've not been charged on the CC for $19 for the gas or anything else.

Place you picked the car up from:- MCO Catergory of car hired:- SFAR - standard SUV Make of car you got:- Cheverolet Traverse Hire car company used:- Hertz We booked the car hire when we discovered the "cheap" Hertz/Expedia deal. Hertz were actually charging less for the gas than the gas stations, so we prepaid the fuel $54. We were impressed with this car even though there are only 3 of us. Reversing camera inbuilt into rear view mirror, sirrius radio, seperate air con controls in rear in addition to front, electric seats in rear as well as front, seperate audio controls in rear. Thinking of booking this level next year even at "full" price!

Catergory of car hired:-7 Seater Minivan Make of car you got:- Dodge Town and Country Hire car company used:- Dollar Loaded with 3 cases, 1 pullalong, 3 hand luggage, 1 laptop, 1 wheelchair and camera bag along with "kitchen sink"( felt like it when you have a wife like Caron ) Loaded up for trip to DTD dropoff We picked this up via Dollar express. It was an all electric model. Electric opening and closing doors and tail gate. Great to be able to open the doors as you walked up to the car for it to cool down. Range was about 100 yards. We found no problems with 4 cases, wheelchair, 3 pieces of hand luggage, camera and laptop with room to spare with the rear seats folded down. With them up we could easily get Josh's chair and plenty of shopping (Bud Lite) into the boot. Barry

Catergory of car hired:- Intermediate S.U.V, Ford Escape or similar Make of car you got:- Chevrolet Suburban Hire car company used:- Budget Loved this car, it was huge, had 8 seats, our luggage disappeared as there was only 2 of us. We passed a Hummer and it looked small. We rented from Budget for 1 day after our Transatlantic cruise, we only paid $55 for the day. |

Catergory of car hired:- Mid Size Make of car you got:- Toyota Corolla Hire car company used:- Hertz Hired through the Hertz/Expedia glitch Woman at the desk said that the car would probably be too small for us and that she could upgrade us for a special price, this was politely knocked back. We pre paid for petrol and we were charged $32 which I though was a very good price. We also took out Plate Pass but we are still waiting for the bill to come through for this. Car was supplied with Sat Nav, no extra charge. |

Place picked up car from: MCO
Category of car booked: Full Size Make of car got: Kia Sorento Hire car company used: Alamo Hired this car September/October 2010 and booked through Expedia for a great price. Loads of cars to choose from under the "Full Size" category from saloons to SUV's. Chose this one as only had 300 miles on the clock and car seats for kids fitted in a treat! Lovely car and not expensive to run at all!

Collected - Orlando International Airport (MCO)
Hired with - Alamo thro Virgin Fly Drive Booked - 8 Seater Mini Van Got - 8 Seater Suburban SUV by paying $240 upgrade. Haggled down from $460. Wanted this before we went but wouldn't have paid more than we did. it averaged about 15mpg but with the American fuel prices who cares! Loved driving this car and so did my wife. We had 6 in the car and there was loads of room. We got 3 large cases, 2 holdalls a push chair and 3 rucksacks in the back with all 8 seats up and i could still see out the back window. Would easily take 5 big cases in the boot. Just to add that between this and the Tahoe (Slightly shorter version of Suburban) they were almost the most popular cars on the road. (The Sienna may just give it a run for the money?) This shows boot space with all 8 seats up. Edited at 12:18 AM. |

Place you picked the car up from:- Sanford
Catergory of car hired:-Intermediate 4dr A/C (Free upgrade to the Full Size 4dr) Make of car you got:- VW Jetta Hire car company used:- Budget through USRentacar Sorry no snaps of interior. Car was very roomy, book had enough space for or 3 cases, 3 lots of hand luggage and laptop bag with a little room to spare. Only thing I didn't like was that after sitting in the car parks all day long the black leather seats were a bit of a nightmare on the drive home.
