Free / cheap things to do
Hello, we have booked a week onsite at universal for September after just being to Spain and had rubbish weather. We need some sun ☀️
However we only have universal/volcano bay tickets. We do have a car and would like to see other things. Thinking of gatorland and maybe a state park? Any ideas? 2 adults and 1 child aged 7 😊

Trip to Celebration for a stroll round the lake and shops, followed by ice creams at Kilwins and a seat in the rocking chairs.
It’s free to visit Disney Springs and the Boardwalk obviously and in the evenings there’s a bit of entertainment. Ditto for CityWalk. Daytrips to the various beaches or towns like Mount Dora, Winter Park or St Augustine. For what it’s worth SeaWorld/Busch Gardens/Aquatica passes can work out pretty cheap compared to Disney. Bok Tower Gardens or Lake Eola are both gentle days out. Kissimmee Park is alright, years ago when I was a kid we used to take our sandwiches there in the afternoon and have a little picnic as our house is close by. Some people like Old Town, especially on car night (it’s really not my cup of tea though). Kelly Park for some natural springs with swimming and tubing. Drive in cinema. You can definitely fill two weeks easily! |

Another vote for Clearwater.
There is a bowling alley at Cabana Bay which looked good when we were there. There's quite a lot to do on International Drive (at varying prices) - including plenty of Crazy Golf choices. We quite like Dave & Busters which is a big arcade near Pointe Orlando. They usually do half price games on Wednesdays.

The State Parks eg Lake Louise, Blue Springs, De Leon Springs (this park has the Sugar Mill where you can cook your own pancakes on a grill at the table) plus other State Parks are all great places to visit and are less than $10 per car entry.

Lake Louise is in Canada so that won't be a cheap trip
Lake Louisa should be OK though
