First timer August plan
Hi all.
We are staying for 2 weeks in august as first timers... me, hubs, 10 yo girl, 9 yo girl. Staying offsite and orange lake resort. Here is my itinerary plan so far. Would you mind looking at it and seeing if I have any problems or anything you can suggest better? Sat 18th arrive and sleep! Sun 19th MK til 2ish then back to hotel for pool Mon 20th Epcot til 2ish then back to hotel for pool Tue 21st typhoon lagoon all day Wed 22nd AK til 2ish then pool Thursday 23rd chilled morning then MK from 2ish til end for hEA Fri 24th KSC all day Sat 25th chilled morning then HS from 2ish til end for fantasmicc and star wars show (possibly) Sun 26th MK from when we get up will when we've had enough... Mon 27th move to royal Pacific for US and IOA Tue 28th US and IOA Wed 29th free day to decide what to do then Epcot in evening for fireworks Thurs 30th Blizzard Beach all day Fri 31st shopping am and AK til end. Sat 1st checkout use DS to dump cases and then either stay in DS or head to a park til we have to leave for airport Looking at it it looks like we have lots of chilled and pool time. These are a mixture of shopping pool and rest etc. I'm really conscious of the heat zapping us and being totally exhausted so have tried not to put full days in the parks in? What do you all think? How late do you arrive? I personally would try and stay awake as late as possible the first night to try and get into Florida time. We plan on a walk around the resort and dinner in the food court before popping into the gift shop for a look around to tire the kid's out.
I think otherwise the plan seems really good. We're similar to you and have a lot of pool morning/afternoons/shopping planned, however, this is depending on how we're all feeling, if we feel ok we might head to a park if the kid's want to. I think it's good to have a plan but to also be flexible Hope you have a lovely time! X

Looks pretty good. What about a few visits to Disney Springs for food / entertainment wondering about in the evening after pool time?

I would probably move the KSC day to follow one of your morning park days. Staying up late for HEA then a full day with lots of travel may be a bit much for the kids
Hope you have a fantastic time! |

I think that’s really a pretty ace plan, especially for your first trip.
We’re staying at RPR for the first time this year too. We’ve been to Florida lots over the years and definitely recommend plenty of pool time coupled with half days at the parks. Our daughter is now 10 and they do need some downtime too. Especially in the first week when you’ll be getting up early and probably asleep by 10. Be prepared to change plan especially if you love a park. Now this is purely our feelings on the parks. AK never gets a second day from us. Some people love it but we prefer MK. Typhoon Lagoon is amazing. Blizzard Beach has the best family raft ride but TL got a new family raft ride last summer and it’s brill too. But the wave pool at TL is the best wave pool we’ve ever been too. It’s impossible to see everything but absolutely do not miss Happily Ever After At MK. You might find yourself back at it on the end of your Blizzard Beach day. I know lots of people rave about Wishes but HEA is incredible Have a fantastic holiday!, |

I think you've nailed it with this plan!
You might find that on the days when you're back at the pool for 2, you might be up for an evening at one of the parks, but you can play it by ear. You seem to have covered everything, but have scope to squeeze more in if you want to. Like Apricota suggests, you might want a look at Disney Springs? Might be worth booking a dinner there, and having a look around (although with 2 daughters, that could turn out to be an expensive evening!) We would agree with Sinshinekid - Typhoon Lagoon is our favourite over Blizzard Beach, but that's because we love the wave pool. Have a fabulous holiday! |

Thank you all! I think I'm pretty happy with the plan and will definitely put some extra visits in in the evenings should we feel up to it! Thank you! Xx
