Sounds like I need to be more careful of them than the diazepam.

I genuinely didnt think a shunt at a relatively low speed of 25-30 could cause any issues.

Now I see why people make such a big thing of whiplash...

Plus as we are in Wales it's not about the prescription charges as we dont pay.
And I think they are very good, they work for me and that's main thing I suppose, luckily I don't take them all the time I only take them when I have a bad flare up but always make sure there's some in cupboard cos getting into surgery takes a while and when it's bad last thing I want is a trip there. If its a niggle paracetamol help, they prescribed me high strength cocodamol to take with the naproxen I can't get on with those at all and wouldn't take as a last resort.
Prescription charges I could do without lol... That said I used to be a pharmacy dispenser many moons ago so sometimes the prescription charge is a bargain price of some meds if you could buy them, but it also works other way my eldest daughter was prescribed something the other week I knew she could buy over the counter cheaper.

I know I'm shooting myself down but I don't think it's right that England pays for prescriptions. It should be a level playing field.

I'd like it to be a level playing field too... I always think when I'm in my local pharmacy I'm the only one paying, woman at counter always looks surprised when I say I pay lol... . Unless she thinks I'm a pensioner 😮😮😮

Takes surprisingly little speed to send the body violently in unexpected directions, especially perpendicular to the direction of travel, which a side impact will do. 20 - 30mph may sound slow in the context of driving, but put it in another unit - 25mph is 11 metres per second - that's fast, and a head isn't supposed to travel sideways like that.
My wife had a low speed prang (was rear-ended when she pulled up to a red light and a little old dear behind simply didn't brake) when our little one was about six weeks old. Tyke was ensconced in her car seat - a good one is a remarkably well engineered bit of kit - so was fine, but Mrs Mac was on a cocktail of drugs from the quacks that took the edge off in the morning and through the day, but had her on the ceiling by evening.

Folk scoff at whiplash, because it's so easily faked I guess, but genuine whiplash is awful and can be long-term.

I wish you well in your recovery, and as others have said, don't rush to settle any claim.
