I hope so, but would definitely want to check.

Of course, it’s worth remembering that for Hilton Honors and IHG Rewards booking via the hotels own website can garner quite a lot of points and free Internet.

Hi. I booked through Virgin Holidays the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Tower hotel and today I have booked my fast passes 60 days in advance. I have also checked and I don’t need to pay a resort fee as I booked through Virgin. It took a while to get the right booking reference which was eventually provided directly through the hotel but I’m pleased to say I’m all booked for my fast passes and cannot wait until our first trip to Disneyworld and Florida!

As a family of 5, we have stayed in POR 3 times, and only paid the extra for preferred room the 1st time. You do not have to get a preferred room as that only dictates that you stay in the one of 4 buildings closest to the main area.
Most Alligator Bayou section rooms sleep 5.

A family of 5 will always get a room with a murphy bed, so no need to book a preferred room. However, for a family of 4, the only way to guarantee a room with a murphy bed at POR is to book a preferred room. There are standard rooms in both Alligator Bayou and Magnolia Bend, so by just booking a standard room you could end up in either section, potentially without a murphy bed.

In the whole of AB (1024 rooms), there are actually only 119 standard rooms with 2 doubles and a murphy bed. The rest are all 'view' or preferred rooms. In Magnolia Bend, there are 131 standard rooms with 2 double beds, and none of the rooms in MB have a murphy bed. So, there's actually a slightly higher chance of being allocated a room in MB for a family of 4. To be 100% sure of a room with a murphy bed, you need to book a preferred room if you're a family of 4
