Clearwater - tell me your plans...

Visiting Clearwater for the first time with kids 16 & 19, we have a car and a hotel near the pier, 5 nights, 4 full days.

I don’t need a rigid itinerary but keen to know what others would do in the timeframe to get a good balance visiting a new area. I’m thinking a bit of time on the beach (but not the full 8hrs x 4 days!), dolphin trip and maybe a paragliding booking for the kids. Happy for a bit of sightseeing in the vicinity/along coast to make most of our time. Not sure about Busch Gardens at moment, happy to see other things as been once before.

Our time in Orlando is a bit more planned in that we’ve booked FP+, got Kennedy tickets and 3 days in Universal hotel.

Thanks 😃☀️

Would love to hear other’s ideas as we are hoping to do something like that for the first time. Where are you staying?

Beachview Hotel. Seems reasonably priced, good location and has a sofa bed & kitchenette which is useful with two teenagers. And a beach view room of course! What about you

We haven’t booked anywhere as we are going in 2019 but would like some room after all staying in 1 room in Disney!

The Beach Shanty is great for breakfast. Its opposite the Hilton.

Frenchys is great for lunch/dinner.

There are street acts on the pier at sunset which can be good.

We love Johns Pass which is a short drive away. There is a Bubba Gumps there over looking the water and some very quirky shops set on a boardwalk.

Staying over and watching the sunset in my absolute favourite thing!

We stay at the Hyatt Regency

love to hear a bit more about Johns Pass. is the beach there any good?

Seems to have a cool different selection of shops.

There is only a tiny beach under the bridge at John's Pass, not really suitable for lazing on the beach, more for fishing. However you can hire boats and jet-ski's there and some nice places to eat including a brewery upstairs on the boardwalk. You are really near St Pete's, Madeira and Treasure Island so maybe have a wander round John's Pass, have a bite to eat, hire a boat for an hour or so and then drive down the roads in either direction and you will have your pick of beaches.

We spent a week there a few years ago, really loved it and I’m not really a beach person! We did a dolphin boat tour, trip to Busch, Ellenton outlets, baseball game. It’s all in my trippy from 2014
