BA Fly Drive Fort Lauderdale

Traveling in August. Do you get a choice of car at this airport (BA so im guessing Avis) or do they just 'drive the car to you.'?

We are in Avis preferred, but did not see our name on the board (meaning your car is already picked out for you and you go directly to it, without doing any paperwork at the desk). Apparently your name does not go up on the board the first time you use this after joining, however the reason was that my DH credit card associated with his Avis account had expired.

Anyway, had our name been on the board, and had we not liked the allocated car, there is a section in the car park to choose another one at no cost, or upgraded cars at extra cost. As it was, the girl at the desk asked us if we would like a free upgrade to SUV ( We had reserved a standard saloon, Buick Verano or similar, but I guess they had ran out). This was fine by us, so we didn't really look at the swap lane or the upgrade lane. I would imagine, there will be a good choice, as the Avis section was fairly big.

Interested in this one, anybody else had a look at the Select and Go row in FLL recently?

We've just returned from a road trip from Orlando to Key West and had a Mustang which was great, next trip they want an additional £250 over a Chevy Cruze or similar. To be fair in The Keys it sits mostly in the car park so we've gone with the Cruze, however, if there was another shiny black Mustang (or any other colour come to that) I wouldn't say no.

Obviously happy to take what Ive paid for but something with a soft top would be nice.
