Florida Keys - fully recovered from irma?

Hi Folks, just wondering if anyone on this forum has been the keys recently and would like to share their thoughts - opinions on whether the keys is recovered from irma? Any pics to share?

It’s recover”ing” but not fully recovered just past the middle keys, Key West looks perfect but there’s lots of rebuilding happening on the way down. Don’t be put off it was still amazing 3 weeks ago, so much so we’ve booked to go back September this year.

Anything that’s not right is closed or about to reopen bigger and better, you must definitely go.

Some businesses may be opened but not fully operational. I would double check if you are staying in a independent hotel or motel to see if everything is repaired. I don't think I wouldn't stay some place because repairs are still in progress but knowing ahead of time is helpful Remember, most of the proprietors need your business to recover,

Exactly! They're making a huge effort down there, its very much open for business so people mustn't be put off …. says it all when we're heading back in September for our second trip this year.

You can still see some of the damage, especially to the trees and coast areas around Islamorada and past Marathon on the way to KW. Otherwise it all seemed open, apart from a few hotels on the south side of the keys which took the full force of the winds and water. Such an amazing place, they need lots of visitors to go back
