Wonder if they'll now do a deep clean of the rooms that have been used for dogs.

Interesting that the Universal hotels have always been pet friendly.

I didn’t think this would be a popular move for Disney. Not surprised it has been dropped.

From what I’ve read the issue hasn’t been customer complaints, but rather a lack of pet bookings

This doesn’t surprise me. I doubt anyone will have noticed if there were any dogs there and it’s more likely people agree that WDW is not an appropriate place for dogs. Having a dog friendly hotel doesn’t bother me I just didn’t think it was ever going to be fair on the dogs.

Good call. A Disney resort is no place for a dog. I worried about them been left alone all day.

I did always wonder about that- when my parents travel with their dogs they never leave them alone in the hotel room, not even for an hour. So do people really do that? Are they out at the parks all day?

I saw dog sh on manicured grass.
I saw dog toilet areas next to pools in Yacht Club which used to be areas where you could let toddlers run free.
I saw stories of dogs being left in rooms, incessantly barking whilst selfish owners were at parks.
I saw dogs being taken into the shop/ restaurant at Yacht Club and CMs petting it as cute, seemingly oblivious to food hygeiene.
I saw numerous selfish owners with dogs on lobby furniture, including it being damaged.
This won't effect Brit dog owners, American owners please leave dogs at home.

I have never been able to walk into a room and determine if a dog had ever been in that room before me. Rooms are cleaned and I would have no concerns on that count.

But I am glad about this decision, because I don’t think it is any place for a dog.

was all a bit of a storm in a teacup tbh - as usually total dibb over reaction and third hand posts for "other sites" used as evidence against.

Im pretty sure none of us travelled 9-14 hours with our dogs as cargo - maybe some floridians took nana and poochie with them for the first time.

But as with all things Disney - Disney will do what suits Disneys bottom line - and if there are not enough booking it will go - regardless of what any of us wee >3%ers think.

BTW fun fact - dogs are allowed in any establishment in the UK - only "law" or proviso is that said location has taken precautions have been made so dogs cant freely enter food prep areas - ie a door to the kitchen...

At least they gave it a go

I have a little pooch and love dogs, i'm not too worried about getting a room where a pet has stayed as long as it cleaned and I can't imagine you can hear much barking.

BUT, the thought of dog mess on the grounds really puts me off & also what would you do with said dog whilst you're at the parks?
