Pound to dollar rate falling

Hi everyone. I have been keeping an eye on the exchange rates. As of today, the pound has fallen to 1.31. This was less than we got when we went in September 2016.

I wish I changed some money in April when it went to 1.43.

Hopefully it will get a bit higher before we go at the end of September this year.

Yes I hope so too, we go the end of October so are hoping it improves soon. We still have to book RPR hotel for two nights but have also noticed when the rate drops the cost of the hotel rises so waiting to book that as well. The rates are rubbish at the moment compared to $1.54 we got in 2015 and $2 to £ on our first visit in 2007. Now we would be super happy with $1.40 fingers crossed it starts to improve very soon

I can't see any recovery until Brexit is resolved. A hard brexit could see sterling hit new lows against the dollar.

I've still got to pay the balance of our house on Anna Maria Island and wish I had done it a few weeks ago. I think I'll pay it today before it drops even lower!

& now it has gone back up market rate over 1.32

It has recovered yesterday's losses due to the minutes form the BOE monthly meeting which showed the vote for an interest rate rise result 6-3 against it but the markets thought it would have been 7-2 so it is seen as good for the £, whether this is short term or the start of it getting better who knows.

According to the 'money' pundits a few weeks ago on the tv, the pound will start to gain against the dollar. I haven't seen much of that happening YET

Nobody knows unfortunately or they would be millionaires but hopefully it should rise

Last time we were there it was the time of $1.2 to the £ so even $1.3 an improvement for us.. 😂😂
