Complicated booking looking for help.

So here goes,

We are two families
Me, wife, son and daughter.
Friends
Dad, Mum, son and daughter.

Plan is for us to spend a week in Disney with DDP and friends a week in Universal or close by Hotel.

2nd week we join up at a Villa in Tampa area,

We all want to travel together direct, no need for a car for anyone in 1st week but defo need one or two in 2nd week.

I just cant seem to get anywhere in finding things, anybody help?

Don't want to sound uncharitable but wouldn't it be simpler to go to an agent with the same request? it's their job and they will have access to everything. Approach two or three and then compare itineraries and quotes.

If you are unsure about doing it yourself DIY then one of the online Orlando TAs might be best.

Someone like Charter or Ocean Florida.

Never used them as only 2 of us with simple requirements. Am sure they’ll be plenty on here who have used them

I would book flights all together arriving at Orlando. Personally I would do 2 separate bookings unless you are very close and sure no-one is going to change anything.
Then ones at Disney book direct with Disney including Tickets and free dining. Book magical express to Disney for free. Book a car with Alamo to collect from Disney car care at the end of your week.
Other group book a Universal hotel and tickets with whoever has the best price. They will need to book a transfer from the airport or get an Uber. They can also book a car to collect somewhere near Universal. (see which companies do this. some have centres on I drive)

Book a villa together for your second week on the Dibb or on Holiday lettings or any other preferred site.

Make sure cars are booked to be returned at the airport and you can drop them there.

You also have the option of booking flights that fly home from Tampa and book cars to be returned there.

You need to decide dates then depending how far out it is look at booking. Flights altogether so you travel then first week do individual bookings so you all get what you want then agree a Villa for second and one of you book that as main guest? Car hire arrange for a collection at end of 1st week either 1 big enough for all or both do individual bookings? Or as previously mentioned get a TA to do it?

If I was planning this kind of trip I would DIY, I find than that you can book to fit your schedule rather than that of a TA.

I assume you all agree on when you want to travel, so based on that set a skyscanner alert for flights and then be ready to book once a flight meets your requirements., along with looking at other airlines direct... virgin, BA , delta united etc.

With the hotel accommodation maybe each family could do their own... as often what suits one may not the other?

With regards a villa in the Tampa area, is your plan to have a more beach based week.? If so look at the various towns down the gulf coast to find one which you all like ... some being more touristy than others and depending on the ages of children and what you think you intend to do.

We are doing a trip like your plans this year, I booked the flights in Jan, found an apartment near St Pete Beach for 5 nights and then moving to a villa in Orlando.
Good luck..

We are a family of four and every year we go at the same time as our friends who are also a family of four.
We do things together but also have very individual holidays.
So firstly each family book their own fly drives with our own cars. We have flown together but have also travelled at different times.
We book our own villas in the same area. And our own theme park tickets which are not always the same.
We then share our plans and work out what we are doing together and when we will do things on our own.
The first time we all did Disney together and the an overnight stay in Clearwater. And on a couple of evenings met up for dinner.
Last year we met up a couple of times in the evening for dinner as they were doing Disney and we did Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens ECT..
And then in the second week we stayed on Anna Marie Island and they came and stayed overnight. We also go to each other's villas so that we can have a drink together and the children can play in the pool. We also go to the water parks together.
Over the years we have done lots together but also lots on our own. It means everyone has freedom to make their own choices but also enjoy each other's company.

Book your flights separately. Choosing the same ones is not going to be hard. Book your first week hotels separately. You’ll have to nominate a Villa booker. Choose together. Transfer money to booker in full the person booking (who will then hold only their debt but responsibility if you change your minds) pays the balance. I’d book two cars for week 2. Separately. It’s pretty easy really. If you want an agent to help you I’d recommend My Magic Holiday.

Hi all thanks fro the replies, sorry not replied sooner, DW sorted a weekend away with friends and a good time was had.

Had a good chat with friends and sort of agreed to go back to last year when we all shared a Villa for two weeks. Difference is we are going to stay in Disney for the 1st week and they are going to stay in a villa for 2 weeks. We will join them in week 2. Dates agreed for 4th August. We have decided on POR and we are looking for a suitable Villa that lets our friends do Universal but will work for beaches etc. Happy days
