After many weeks of waiting, I am pleased to say I now have my Aer Lingus voucher.

It took many weeks of emails, complaints, calls, messenger and contacting vars depts via emails supplied by a kind dibber.
At 1 point I had about 8 different Case Reference numbers!

The icing was an individual 's email address at AL supplied by a 'disgruntled group' who set themselves up on facebook and shared info to assist others with their quests to get their vouchers.

I only just initiated a chargeback via my bank, so will now cancel that.

Fingers crossed!

Due to fly Aer Lingus Dublin - Orlando 17th October, Rtn 31st October. Obviously cancelled everything ages ago, but have been waiting for the flights to be cancelled (like so many others) to get our money back.

Received an email late last week:

Hello,

We know that there continues to be a lot of uncertainty about travel and we understand your concerns. With this in mind, we have updated the terms of your booking to help give you more peace of mind.

As you’re scheduled to fly with us between 22 September and 12 October, you’re now welcome to either:

1. Change your flight without a fee
You can change the date of your trip at aerlingus.com. We’ve waived our change fees, but please note that a fare difference may apply.

2. Apply for a voucher
We’ll send you a voucher for the full value of your flight. Applying for a voucher is really simple – follow these steps. If you’ve already applied for a voucher, you don’t need to do anything further. Terms and Conditions apply.

We ask that you bear with us – it may take up to four weeks for us to get you your voucher. Your patience is really appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you on board – when it works for you.

The Aer Lingus Team


I hopped on their website over the weekend... outbound flight no longer exists.
Phoned this morning at 1030, on the number kindly provided in the first post of this thread.

Got through immediately. After a brief conversation with a very pleasant lady, received my case number & organised the refund. Obviously rescheduling in the current climate not appropriate, decided against the offered voucher... so have been promised the refund onto my card. (To be processed as soon as possible! Before Christmas would be nice! )

Fingers crossed we see our money back soon!

I'll update when it's received to allow a timeline.

My flight is 24th October, and it has disappeared from Manage My Booking today...yet yesterday I had a tweet that said the flight was still departing.

I’d phone the number on the front page of this thread, point out your flight is no longer available & ask for your refund! 👍

Just wanted to provide my recent experience to anyone who might still be worried about AL refunds.

I was due to fly MAN to MCO via DUB on 26th September. I received an email on the 9th September to say they had been cancelled so I could have a voucher or a refund. Chose the refund option and received an email acknowledging this on 19th September.

This morning the refund appeared on my credit card so less than a week for the refund and 15 days overall. I did not call them at any point, make any complaints or initiate any chargebacks, I just waited to see what would happen.

I'm not advocating anyone else take this approach or saying that people should not make complaints etc. I just wanted to reassure people that they seem to be processing things much more quickly than they were at the start of this. Good luck to everyone else in getting their refunds and vouchers.

Dec flight

Hi,

We’ve booked with aer lingus dec 16th - do you think they’ll be cancelled and if so when?

I’d like to move to next summer but flights are much cheaper with other airlines.

Hi I'm sure someone will give you a more accurate answer but currently AL seem to have cancelled MCO flights until 26th October so about a month before your due flight
