I agree!

I agree too. I have 3 daughters, one aged 15 who got her periods aged 10 and is now experimenting with tampons, and another aged 13 who only started a couple of months ago. We have a full itinerary planned for our forthcoming trip which includes the water parks but if either daughter is 'on' then we have shopping trips planned as an alternative. Even my 10 year old understands why we might have to give the water parks a miss.

What a thoroughly interesting and informative thread. I've learnt so much!
My DD hasn't started her periods yet, but is 9 so there is a possibility it could happen before/when we go. May invest in the Diary Doll knickers for when the time comes - wish they'd had them when I was younger, could have saved some embarrassment.

Thank you ladies for all the info on this thread ladies-personally used Tranexamic acid and Norethisterone but wouldn't be keen on my young daughter doing so unless absolutely necessary.

She is however due her period just after we arrive so I have ordered some of the diary doll pants for her from High Street TV who have them on 3 for 2

Just ordered some of these Diary Doll pants for my DD aged 11. She hasn't started yet but id like to be prepared. I will be taking a kit with me as it would be our luck and if it started over there Id be a bit stuck.

I have a feeling I will need them in October but worried they won't work as I've heard the flight alone can affect your cycle.

To the OP: How did your daughter get on in the end?
I used Provera which is similar to norethisterone last year. Other than having to set an alarm on my phone to remember to take the lunchtime dose it was utterly fantastic. No side effects or even so much as a bit of spotting. The period I got after stopping was a little heavier than normal but mine are getting heavier into my 40's anyway. No cramps either.

One of my teenagers was really resistant to tampons but has used them without any issue since she tried the tampax pearl ones which she found much easier to insert than the cardboard ones and the non applicator ones
