We stayed at the Holiday Inn so had no early entry or FOLP but we rode FJ twice and the other HP rides once. Walked onto FJ the day we saw people using FOLP and didn't queue longer than 20 minutes for any HP ride. In fact 30 minutes was the longest we queued for anything, if you use the app for wait times it is possible to visit Universal and do the rides without Express Passes

It tells you on the universal app, states Express pass accepted on the HP rides.

If anyone's going in Jan or Feb, don't worry about express passes, you won't need them!

I think the lines will defo be shorter first thing, as all the people that would have got up early now wont bother, so still worth getting there for the early hours.

We are going end of Aug, one night RPR for FOLP and early entry. So what is the best way to approach now? We were going to check in very early to get the early entry but maybe we do not need to rush so much now? Anything else worth getting there early for?

You can pretty much do everything Universal has to offer in a couple of days ( especially given you'll have folp ), so personally I don't see the need to check in early and leg it to the parks, unless you want to of course.

I know I'll be having breakfast first and getting to the parks around 9.30-10, early enough for us
