epcot - changes since 2016? Fireworks?
I haven't followed all news lately, will there be any changes in Ecpot when we go in June 2018?
We were last there 2016 and I thought there are new fireworks but can't find any info on it.

Epcot fireworks haven't changed in about 20 years. There were rumours it might change this year because the Siemens sponsorship deal ended in October, but nothing announced as yet. I think they'll change them as part of the upcoming Epcot overhaul, but I wouldn't expect anything before 2021.
Attraction wise, also not many changes... depending when in 2016 you visited, the Frozen ride might be new for you - it opened mid-year, replacing Maelstrom in Norway. Otherwise there's been some closures to prepare for new rides (e.g. Ellen is being replaced by a Guardians ride) but they won't be open any time soon. Someone else can answer if there's been other changes to things such as dining. I'm not really an Epcot fan so don't follow it as closely as other parks. There won't be any festivals on over the summer though, which I think is were most of the investment has been going in recent years. ETA: Just remembered Mission Space has new scenes. That's about as thrilling as Epcot gets at the moment. Edited at 03:42 PM. |

The Dibb timeline will tell you everything that’s opened/closed but I think Loldis has covered most changes.

Remembering the old Epcot Firework show (was it really 20 years ago?) where all the countries lit up, the fireworks now are lame in comparison. Back then, many more were sent up, it was almost overwhelming.
I did see the special DVC one they did the other night though, and that was back on top form with an insane amount of fireworks to the end. |
