If you could change just one thing in WDW...

Me and Mrs LaughingPlaceEars were having a discussion about the changes happening at WDW this year and next. I said the BEST thing Disney could do to improve the place is a 5th gate. She didn't agree...

What would your 1 change be?

A fifth gate. The crowds are getting so bad now, and it doesn't seem to matter how much Disney put up prices or charge extra for things that used to be free, there are no longer any "quieter" weeks to visit, unlike when we first started going in 1989.

Another park could help to spread things out a bit more, I think.

For me it’s would be the update of the new monorails which is on its way, nothing worse than having to join a massive queue at the end of the night waiting for the monorail which always seams to have broken down.

I would tend to agree with this. I think they could've created an entire Star Wars park rather than butchering Hollywood Studios for it. It's a big enough franchise that it would draw large crowds. Could easily have different lands - Tatooine, Hoth, Endor etc with different rides and themeing.

It's not like they're short of land!

Though that said, they'd use it as an excuse to whack up the already ludicrous ticket prices.

Add a Marvel Land. Or, better yet, Marvel Kingdom park.

(Yeah, yeah, I know the whole deal with Universal prevents that from happening but still...)

I’d move it to London so I could go every week!

If not my earlier suggestion then - reduce the crowds.

(I'm not convinced a 5th gate would reduce crowd levels. It would just attract more people. So they'd need some other way of reducing crowd levels. Perhaps some bad PR prompting a witch hunt against Disney? )

What, you mean something like a fiasco around major construction work at one of their resorts? Oh, wait ...
