Indeed. Probably a resort but would prefer more attractions

We have very fond memories of taking our kids there also

Last year we hired a boat on the lake and were able to take a closer look at the place now that it's overgrown and disused.

I hope they honour it in someway at whatever they decide to build there. The odd hidden reference we could go to visit would be nice.
There are a few references to river country at the fort wilderness resort. I believe the big wooden barrel near the water slide at the main pool was originally from there. Also something (cant remember what) near the entrance to mickey and minnies backyard bbq. We stayed at fort wilderness in novemebr and loved going by the abandoned water park every day found it really intriguing (love anything like that).

Both my boys age 7 and 10 at the time were really ill after we went. They were throwing up and had diarrhoea. At the time I swore blind it was River Country that had caused it but it wasn't until many years later that I read that a lot of people had been ill after going.

There is well known US podcast that ends with the catchphrase "Stay out of the damn lakes". Every so often they have to explain the phrase for new viewers.

When we went to RC it was two adults and two kids and we were all fine, no sickness or anything strange, but it's a lottery and a risk most of us would rather not take.

Have to say another water park would be good too, just make sure it's not swamp water
