3 week trip - APs

Would you get Disney & Universal APs for a 3 week trip?

I know the advice used to be that at 9 days it made more sense to buy a Disney AP and the Universal ones were always so reasonable that it almost didn't make sense to not get them, but my info isn't up to date.

I'm thinking 3 weeks in August (2008), and would like to do Disney & Universal a fair bit, plus spend a coupld of days at Sea World & Busch.

Thanks

I can't see anything similar in the ticket section on the Dibb in relation to this, but I remembered reading an article on AllEars.net about this before.

It's quite a long article, so will link to it:

I would say it depends on your plans Jo.

August 2008 may well see a repeat of the offer of free dining at Disney, IF you buy a park ticket in conjunction with the accomm. SO if this is something you would be interested in then I would wait for this and no bother with the AP.

If you can use them for resort discounts and also get a DDE card if you intend to eat a lot onsite it may make sense even for one of you to have a Disney AP, but you really need to add up the cost versus savings for your own situation.

Universal APs are cheaper so probably make more sense for a 3 week trip as there isn't another ticket which would cover 3 weeks.

There is a combo ticket for Busch/Seaworld at under £50 which gives unlimited admission for 3 weeks.

There's always the possibility of another trip within the 12 months to make the APs more of a bargain

I'm going to buy one AP for next year's 3 week trip. I can then buy the DDE card too. With the meals that we want to do, plus the saving on parking I've worked out it will be at least £20 cheaper than a 21 day Ultimate for me. Plus we want to stay in the Contemporary so we will have the saving there too hopefully! Plus the shopping!

Then it will be 21 day ultimates for DW and the kids

Thanks guys, I like the sound of free dining at Disney but I think I'm unlikely to buy onsite accomodation, plan at the minute is to rent out DVC and stay offsite in a villa, but it's early days, who knows.

I need an itinery I think then I can start weighing up costs - wow I'm so out of practice, thank god I have you lot!

We looked into Disney Ap's for our 3 week trip, but decided that as we won't go again within the year, it's still cheaper to get 21 day ultimate tickets,
