It is worth it for the fun, so if children are involved you should absolutely do it.
Their faces will be a picture!

In terms of the ice cream, no, I don't believe it is worth it. There's much nicer ice cream to be had elsewhere in the parks.
It's fun for the spectacle though

Do people go in and just order this and some drinks?

Or do they have a meal first and share it as a dessert?

We just bought the icecream we were going to order drinks but the waitress said we might just be better with water and fetched us a jug of iced water with lemon in ... honestly i couldn't eat a meal and then tackle that... we had breakfast and went for our ice cream around 2pm and didn't have lunch.. all we could manage after was a very slow walk around world showcase

We will just be ordering this. Will pay OOP for it. I don't think we would stand a chance finishing it if we eat before having it

I'd kind of like to try the kitchen sink, simply for the novelty/memory of it! There will be 4 adults and 3 kids aged 10, 8 and 4 so hopefully we'd manage it.

Do they let you substitute flavours at all? I can't abide strawberry, kids may not like coffee etc, or do you just dodge round those bits?

Also I worry a bit that when other tables order the kitchen sink, the kids will see the big announcement already, so it won't be a surprise?
they will usually let you make subsitutions or leave things out however they now do 3 versions so you may find one that suits. we had the chocolate lovers one. I was a little disappointed as we didn't get any of the fanfare no lights or announcement the sever just plonked it on the table but as the others didn't know it was meant to happen it wasn't a problem.

It's amazing... you defo need to do this!
Go hungry(there is no way you would eat a meal and then the kitchen sink) perhaps have a late lunch. Also make sure you get a reservation

Ive booked an ADR here at 2pm with my two children just for this alone and wont be having any 'proper' lunch. I cant wait to see their faces and I'm under no illusion that we will be able to finish it. Will break Epcot up for us nicely too as we are there all day.

We didn't have the kitchen sink, party of 4 adults with 2 not wishing to partake, we had a meal and a sundae each but those sundaes were enormous, we saw a 'sink' being served and I doubt we could have finished it anyway. The ice cream parlour in MK did a smaller version, Mickeys red pants I think, if its still available on our next visit I'll give it a shot.

We've booked an ADR to just have this for lunch between the four of us. 2 adults, a 11yr old and an 8yr old!

It look fun and yummy and it's something we'd never do anywhere else so why not!
