late evenings at MK but not on site

Can you help as I think I'm confusing myself.
We last went in Aug 2015.
We had one night stay at the start to get fastpasses and bands.

I rememember there were a couple of nights where MK was open really late, like midnight or later...

I said to DD and DS today that they are older now and could stay up for this...

but.
Looked on park hours and not showing late times other than Extra evening hours which suggests onsite only.

We aren't staying onsite this time.

a) will the later hours show closer to the time?
b) Can we ever stay later and ride rides if we are off-site?

August park hours for mk aren't confirmed yet. Don't worry they'll be late nights.

If EMH are on, you can stay in the park, but you'll need to be a hotel guest to enter the lines and ride.

we wanted to ride. Love riding late at night, and last time DD wasn't well. Was really hoping to do it this year.
