Your preferred car rental company and why?

To be honest we have only ever gone with Alamo. But we have always been happy with the price/service so no need to change

You don't have either of mine which are Enterprise and National. Both excellent, new fleet, great service, don't try to rip you off and choice of the row.

Alamo all the time love picking out what car i want in my section, always have a newish car, love skip the counter.

whereas our experience of alamo at sfb is the opposite of that... had the hard sell *once* - every other time, i just interrupt them, say "sorry, i already have my own satnav, all the insurances i need, i will be returning the car with a full tank of petrol, i do not need any upgrades or addons, thanks" and they just process the paperwork and send us on our way to choose our car

whereas dollar gave us the real hard sell, then a relatively poor choice of car

plus, i prefer sfb as an airport

Alamo, never had an issue and good prices. Used Avis once, didn't have any minivans which I booked and then tried to charge me for an insurance I didn't ask for and overcharge petrol as they said I didn't return it full. Never again will I use Avis.

Mine is Car on the Drive BUT they are just too expensive at the moment. We have booked Avis this time as they were £200 cheaper than COTD plus the car we have booked is a higher specification than the one at COTD. I could not justify the difference so have, sadly, gone with a different provider.

Apart from a small issue last time Alamo for us as well, we went with Dollar for years but their fleet seemed to go downhill a few years ago
