Th1nkT1nk - I've just checked the park hours on here but it is showing a 9pm closure not 6pm - have you seen it anywhere else? Could it be the hours on the Dibb guide are yet to be updated maybe?

Another vote for Test Track Fp instead of Soarin one. Its easy to rope drop Soarin okay, just stick to the right from the main entrance.
I love FoP, so if poss, I'd book another one of those.
The MNSSHP days were somewhere as I've noted 21st, 25th and 28th Aug for parties...

Imagine you are aware, having been before a few times but not sure if they were August. We had a similar plan to your itinerary for week one when we first went in August and a lot of our pool time at the hotel was cut short by rain so spent a bit of time in the room so we now plan one day of pool time in the morning to get the better weather and book FP for later in the day.
