A takeaway burger to say sorry... that’s how serious he thought it was.

So glad your daughter is ok and being strong.
Speaking as someone who escaped a violent marriage many years ago I know how difficult it can be to get away but she’s done the right thing for herself and her children

The sad thing is years ago my own husband had a few violent outbursts, never more than the odd bruise but mostly moodiness and verbal aggression, I spent a couple of nights in a refuge once and went to the solicitors to sort out a divorce a couple of times. It started in the early days of our marriage and ended after almost 20 years. It wasn’t constant and didn’t escalate... I didn’t leave him because I was the breadwinner and he took care of the children, I was advised that it was likely I would lose my home, custody of our 4 children and have to pay him maintenance! He changed (eventually) and has been a devoted and loving husband... thing is I can never forget and I don’t think I can ever completely forgive...
I didn’t realise but my DD remembers me being sad and upset too... luckily she doesn’t want the same for herself or her 4 children... I don’t talk about the bad days, and my friends and family are unaware (as far as I know)...

Am so sorry to read that Diane. I cannot imagine anyone raising a hand to my daughter. I cannot imagine how I would even handle having suspicions she was being hurt. I cannot say on here what i would do to that person. I could not not get involved. No woman or man should ever be the victim of violence.
Nothing would stop me getting to her. I hope she gets all the support she needs and you get to be there for her

How sad your daughter has had to experience abuse from her partner. Let's hope this is now the turning point for her to try and build a new life with her children without him. If you have no health issues I also think you should go and see your daughter and grandchildren - I am sure they need you right now. Take care xx

Oh my goodness. This must be awful to come to terms with from a distance. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.
