Virgin - Great service
I know they're getting a bit of a hammering lately.
We too were cancelled this June, but opted for an open ticket rather than a refund as we will simply go around the same time 2021. Well those dates are now out so I filled in the online form and submitted it to Virgin. 20 mins later they rang me! Asked what dates I had in mind. They have upgraded us to Delight going out and Premium coming back with a refund of £300 Happy customer. |

Similar situation, I messaged them via Facebook late last night, it was gone 11pm. Our flights aren't until April but have moved holiday until August and those dates aren't on sale yet. They replied within 5 minutes detailing my options and as soon as I'd read through and decided I had an open dated ticket all sorted to use by Septmebr 2022. Couldn't have been easier.

I must admit I haven't had any issues with them either. Every time I message them I get a reply, I didn't always get the answer i was hoping for but guessed that as they probably didn't know what the future held they couldn't answer my questions. They finally allowed us to move the deposit from our november 2020 holiday to our already booked november 2021 holiday. Not happy we haven't got a holiday this year but pleased we now know that its cancelled and we haven't lost any money

I am trying to rebook my flights which had been cancelled ,May 2020, I have filled the on line form in, no response. I have text and they have replied but recommend I call. An hour wait on the phone and not had an answer. Can anyone recommend a quicker way !

It is good to read something positive about Virgin Atlantic - many people have experienced less than stellar service from them over the past few months, especially if they requested a refund as opposed to an open-dated ticket.
They have been threatened by the CAA that they must improve their processing time for refunds. I can understand they may have been caught off-guard back in March / early April time, but by now they have had plenty of time to get more staff in. They have plenty of cabin crew on furlough & some of them must live near The Office (Virgin HQ in Crawley) and would probably welcome the chance to work. I had a cancelled Center Parcs break back in late April - they were brilliant at processing the rebooking for the same time next year (all done by a skeleton team working remotely). Even got £130 back from them too due to their rebooking offer - all done within 10 days. When companies want to refund people, it can be done (assuming they have the funds available, which I suspect may be part of the issue with Virgin). |
