f you like a curry then head to the Greyhound Pub in Crawley. Its actually very close to the airport and does a great curry.

For traditional pub fayre you have the Fogshole Farm in Maidenbower, Crawley (chain pub). The Plough in Ifield, Crawley is a quaint little traditional pub that does reasonable priced pub food and is not a chain.

Crawley town its self has a pizza express, Prezzo, Wildwood and a Turtle Bay but it is all chains. The non chains places there dont have a great rep although we have a new Spanish tapas place that is supposdly good although I have never been.

The bar at that travelodge is huge and actually quite nice. I was pleasantly surprised. We had planned on heading out. To eat but in the end couldn't be bothered as the food offerings were varied enough to be adequate.

The Parsons Pig is 5-10 minutes from Gatwick; lovely pub.
They do both a British & Indian menu.
Very popular so booking is advised.

We somehow ended up here last year after the satnav took us on a tour of the Surrey Hills to avoid a smash on the M/way.

Their specials board is pretty damn good too
