My DH forgets nearly every year and I don't think it is a big deal anymore. I think out of the 22 years so far he has remembered on his own I think 3 and he actually forgot our very first one. Mind you it is 1st September and suddenly it has gone from August to September and it is here and I have been known to remember half way through the day and been able to nip to Asda after work for a card because I finish work earlier than he does. One year a friend was nipping into town and got me a fondant pig for him as we never buy gifts for our anniversary.

DH forgot our anniversary this year. He was in a foul mood all day (we work together too) and just before I left work I asked him if he wanted anything special for dinner. He turned round and growled at me "why would I want anything special?" and so I went home. anyway when he got home he was a bit sheepish (we try to keep work at work) and I thought he was doing it because of our anniversary. Anyway during dinner I asked him for a drink which he got me, and when he gave it to me I wished him a happy anniversary. To which his face dropped and asked me "oh my god, its not today is it?" he was mortified. we don't tend to do cards on anniversaries so there was nothing to trigger him in the morning (I had reminded him a day or two before) so he didn't have a clue. I got a huge bouquet the following day

Oh dear, there's still time though. It's our thirteenth anniversary this August...but he's off the hook as we'll be flying home from Orlando... boo hooo.

Ok so we went out for lunch and he was giggling all the way though it, picked kids up from their summer clubs and when we got home there is a beautiful bunch of flowers outside and what did the card read?
'Happy Anniversary! At least I won at golf'
He is a lucky man that I have a sense of humour 😜 and also, I have said at LEAST 5 times this afternoon, 'but you forgot our anniversary!'

He only remembered because I handed him a card this morning! But yes, he is gradually making up for it (I am making out I am more bothered than I actually am so that I can milk it a little while longer )
