Awwww, bye bye New York! What a lovely way to round off your trip though - nice lunch and walk, not so much the stressful trip to the train station!

You seemed to find your way around all the various trains/subways easy enough. Is it that easy or did you do a shed load of research first? DH wouldn't go on the subway when we were there, too dangerous, but like Adam's 'remain vigilant' comment, I'm sure it was a bit of scaremongering

no not much really. I just had the subway map on my phone and worked out which was the nearest that went where we wanted to go, no different from london. Nothing scary about the subway really, even adam was ok about it, the only time he got nervous was when I choose to sit next to a homeless guy... but it was the only seat and my legs were KILLING!

How on earth did you manage without it! my feet would have dropped off without the subway!

Will keep your tip about The River Cafe lunch in mind - it's not absolutely top of our list but it's one we're considering for our next trip so if we do decide to go for it we'll stick to the lunch menu!
