1 week in Vegas?
Hi, I normally go to Vegas for at least 9 nights, but as I'm getting older, I'm finding my lack of tolerance for jet lag is just plain ridiculous now and I can't cope with it. I'm realising that I start to adjust to new time zones from night 8 of a trip. So, I'm considering doing 7 night trips to minimise this hopefully. We are doing 7 nights in Orlando in February half term, which I have no issue with as we will just do a day or two in Disney a bit of shopping then come home. For Vegas this time, I'm hoping for the Valley of fire, Cowabunga bay and just general sight seeing of hotels ect. This would be the May half term. I would prefer July or August, but DS 10 really struggles with the heat now although I could go on my own, he'd never forgive me if I went without him. Has anyone done a week and felt they were impacted less by jet lag but had enough time? Thanks

Opposite for me
We had a couple of week trips when the kids were little and it was fine , went again for a week 7 years ago and the jet lag was terrible . Never again will I do the west coast for a trip less than 2 weeks East coast is fine we do 9/10 days when we go to North Carolina and I’m good . |

Thanks DB. I really am in too minds. I don't know whether to wait till January and see how I feel then or just book now. I think the hardest thing is as well as the jet lag, the blues kick in VERY hard for me after a Vegas trip, so the less time out there the quicker that will come for sure. But the jet lag is getting really bad now, it's horrendous Maybe I should just stay at home lol

All my solo trips are for a week! I did Vegas a few years ago and managed fine with the jet lag! I try to put my watch on the new time as soon as I get on the plane and try to sleep accordingly!
It can ge a bit hit and miss - coming home from Montreal and Bangkok I had no issues but Boston was a bit more challenging!

Excited about Disney
|
I travel to the US a lot with work and have tried everything I can’t think of to overcome jet lag - early bed, late bed, stay on UK time, use local time, melatonin, exercise, have a few drinks, drink water etc
Unfortunately (for me) I haven’t found any good way to cope with the jet lag so now just travel expecting it and plan for the tired days |
