Really not coping all that well...
Seems silly really but two of my nieces are leaving for Australia a week on Monday and I'm really not coping with it at all 😓
They are cousins and 3 years apart (same birthday and everything!) 24 and 21 years old. I am really happy for them and it's a great opportunity but am just going to miss them so much. They are Godmothers to my kids and have a very close bond with them too. Been crying on and off for a few days and I guess it won't get any easier between now and 9 days time |

My brother went in July. I felt the same and was really teary before he left. But I speak to them on Skype and Facebook and can see how happy they are. I'd love to visit but in the meantime Skype is the next best thing.

My sister, BIL, niece and nephew went to Perth in February. I was like you in the months and weeks leading up to it. Every time I thought about it I was crying. She only lived 6 doors away so we saw each other all the time.
Since she has been gone we have phoned, Skyped, emailed and text each other. Skyping has helped a lot because we can see how they are, we skyped one of my other sisters wedding 2 weeks ago so she felt part of that. We still miss them all but know they have settled and are doing well. It's quite easy keeping in touch nowadays. If you haven't already I would say set up Skype as Bev has said it's the next best thing. Hope your goodbye to them isn't too sad.

Hey! Yeah they have an iPad so we can FaceTime them but its not the same as a favourite-auntie hug Christmas will be so weird without them, they're the life and soul! I so hope they settle, it's such an adventure for them, there's nothing really here for them, although they have both left jobs to go to Oz. Thanks very much, it helps that others know how it feels, I feel a bit daft. God knows how my sisters are feeling xx

Sorry that this is making you feel so blue. Sounds like you have a great relationship with them, and I am sure that keeping in touch will be as important to them as it is to you.

Hi, yeah I do. I'm the youngest of 6 so I'm the one they come to when they fight with their mums etc. they're like wee sisters I suppose sometimes. Life gets in the way and we all work so it's hard to see them as much as I would like and I hope I don't regret not trying harder to spend more time with them. I think I need some chocolate, crisps and wine tonight to get me through...
