Mobile Your Universal Best Bits

We have three days at Universal in August and I think this will be the last time we visit Florida so just want to make sure we squeeze every bit of enjoyment out of it.

I imagine you know the tip to stay at an EP hotel. I'd strongly advise using it.

Other tips:

Look for the shows in Universal and IoA. Universal has the beat builders they are very fun. There was also a flying fish acrobatics show that was really cool. Islands has the harry potter performances in front of hogwarts so look out for those. Also they have a play performance in Diagon alley in US.

Good food options in Universal - for variety the Simpsons dining area, lots of choice. Richters is good for burgers if you find yourself at the back of the park.

Islands food options are plentiful, but croissant moon at the start of the park is good for breakfast pastries and a nice sweet snack during the day. Try the nalpoleon. Very good. We usually eat at Burger digs though we did try the HP eatery in hogsmeade and my parents enjoyed that.

Food options on Citywalk - cheap, panda express burger king or Hot dog hall of fame are all good options. Can't speak as to the fancier stuff.

Single rider lines can save time if no EP.

Funny thats all I can remember right now.

Excellent, no need to worry about which rides to do when then, you should be fine with the EP.

RPR is a fantastic hotel, so your in safe hands there. For a nice quick breakfast option in-house so to speak (cereal, pastries) try the Orchid lounge in the lobby of RPR. Really helped us on a morning when we wanted to get out and about but needed a quick drink and a snack.

Check into RPR early (7am) and then head straight into the parks or VB. Get into VB for opening, you can do most of the rides in the first two hours. We do this and then leave as it gets busy. Take you hotel pool towels and just leave them at VB.

Use the boat and walk too, both are really relaxing from your hotel to the parks. Movies by the pool are always a great chance to relax at RPR. We always eat at both the Three Broomsticks and the Leaky Cauldron - Latter does a great breakfast platter.

As you approach MIB, ask the first cast member if you can 'do the tour' and most of the time someone will take you down into the main hall exhibit - well worth doing.

Get the photopass (offers on at the moment on here $59). You can get some really good shots, especially at the ET ride (shop). It's valid at VB also.

Have a great trip!

Make sure you try a milkshake from the chocolate factory! ... they’re amazing
Our favourites are Harry Potter world, try and get in here as early as possible because it can get so so busy. The transformers ride is a must from me too!

Meet Blue the dinosaur, you get photo and video, the CM will take it for you. The horror makeup show is excellent.

Sth simple but nice to get a break in the park - in diagon alley we always grab an ice cream from fortescues and sit on the steps behind Hagrids motorbike and watch the world go by for a while.

If you love water rides, IOA has three brilliant ones: Dudley Do Right, Popeye and Jurassic Park. Plan to ride them all on the same day and either take spare clothes or plan around popping back to RPR to change. You will be drenched - absolutely drenched - but they are great fun.
