1. for me but my true selection isn't on the poll...

"I am booked and have paid so I am going but would have cancelled if I hadn't paid"

DW suggested the other day about maybe going to visit Boston in the Autumn. Whether we do or not remains to be seen. But, at the moment, I am in the "not booked but have no problem going back to USA" camp, based on the options.

I hasten to add that it doesn't mean I like how things are going politically in the USA. Just that, as things currently are, it wouldn't stop me from visiting the USA.

That's how we feel, and others have expressed the same feelings earlier on this thread.

I feel uneasy, but it's too late to cancel. We will go and make the most of it.

I’m in the was never going to book category, but I’d hope that the VP’s views about Europeans is a minority and not what they vastly majority of us residents think!

I think that is true of a good many, given we are a set of planners it would ring true that many booked a long while ago before recent goings on. Does make the poll slightly skewed though - maybe that's why they didnt ask you onto Good Morning Britain CFB!

I suppose the poll is a good indicator of how many people are swayed enough by recent events to actually cancel a holiday they've already booked and paid for. Many of those bookings would still be able to get a full refund or pay a small cancellation fee, so those people could choose to book somewhere. It really comes down to how badly they think to recent changes are and whether they are prepared for the hassle, and potential financial impact, of changing their holiday plans. Some people have chosen that option in the poll, albeit only a small number.

Be interested in how you get a full refund - I always book DIY and except for a year or so around covid, flights are never refundable. What's your tip on this?

If you book Virgin PE (don’t know about econ) you can book premium flex which has unlimited free changes and is fully refundable.

Well that explains it - think I’m probably on the lower end income scale on here!

Listening to them I think it’s only a matter of time before we become “the enemy”
Trump wants the nhs to be part of any trade agreement ( and may well get his way ) but if he doesn’t then the mood will change and the aggressive rhetoric will start. We’ve been going to the US since the 80s and would never have contemplated having reservations, we go again in May without the family/grandkids but I’m not convinced we’ll be returning too soon after that.
