I do a combination. I need a large amount of varied urology equipment on a monthly basis, which is delivered by a company that deals with urology and stomas. I feel like postage for this must cost the company a fortune, as it is large boxes and it isn't unusual for me to get 3 or 4 boxes a month via UPS, as they tend to send what they have, then anything out of stock is delivered as soon as it comes in. Don't really see how they make a profit, but presumably they must do.

For all my other prescriptions, including monthly thyroid meds, I do the repeat request online via my GP's website, then collect from the pharmacy attached to the Dr's surgery a few days later. Works well for me, but I can see the appeal of getting regular meds delivered.

Learnt something new today, re online prescriptions.

As I said before, I've used Pharmacy2U for quite a while, with no real issues.

Today I had to call them as a prescription from Friday, which I needed by Wednesday, seemed to be stuck at pending dispatch stage.

When I called them the lady was lovely and said she had no idea why it hadn't already been sent to me; she said there was no problem with it that she could see.

When I said I actually needed it for tomorrow, she said that she could cancel it off their system and put it back in the NHS system for me... she then sent me an email with a 12 digit code, to give to any pharmacy (after an hour), to get my prescription then and there.

Worked really well. Went to Boots and the code allowed them to print out the prescription; I just had to wait for the pharmacist to get it for me.

We get a few a week of these at the pharmacy where I work. Usually the doc putting through antibiotics to the delivery service and people wanting it quicker, so they get the code, P2U put it back on the system and we can grab it down for people... that side of the system works really well. (Problems come when it is not a normal stock item and we can't do it without ordering in)

My husbands close mate is a pharmacist and actually owns a few pharmacies around Wigan. He has a few cars & drivers that deliver to those who can’t get out. In fact my friend is one of his drivers 👍🏻 She works Monday’s, Wednesdays & Fridays , most is elderly and care homes although since covid the delivery service has been busier.
So I would give your local pharmacy a call and see if they deliver. I think most do nowadays.
I remember many moons ago when I left school, I was at college (evenings) and I worked full time in a pharmacy, I always offered to go out and do the deliveries just to get me out of the shop for a bit 🤣🤣

I've used Pharmacy2Go for a couple of years now as has my OH, never had any issues with them at all. Medication is delivered within a few days of ordering.
