In present company been in a Quality based role for the last 5 years, which is basically what i've done all of my career. The new role is in the Finance department - yes, seems a million miles away from where i've been but... I'm a spreadsheet/database/data analysis/maths geek so they decided they would "headhunt" me for the role rather than search outside the business and employ someone just cos they've got an accountancy degree or similar.

Would ask a few questions of them - will they still count your 25 years when you shift to the new job as continuity of service (for things like annual leave amounts/redundancy etc)? Do you have to do a probationary period? and what actually happens if unsuited?

The "25" years part just means i've done similar roles for 25 years, this covers about 5 different employers.
Everything else is covered under current terms/conditions. So, it's all good.
